Operator License for Selling Alcohol

There are three types of Operator's Licenses available depending on time of application. All fees are non-refundable and due at the time of application filing.

All license applications must be accompanied by a Completion Certificate from an approved Wisconsin Alcohol Server Training Course. 

2-Year Operator License - Fee $50
This license is effective July 1 of each odd-numbered year through June 30 of the following odd-numbered year.
Licenses are issued after applicants pass a background check by the Police Department and receive final approval from the Common Council. Applications must be received by the Friday prior to a Common Council meeting (held the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month).

1-Year Operator License - Fee $25
This license is effective July 1 of each even-numbered year through June 30 of the following odd-numbered year.

Provisional Operator License
 - Fee $15
This one-time license is effective for 60 days and is non-renewable.
The license allows someone who has completed a Server Training Course to serve alcohol without another licensed operator on the premises. This is often referred to as a Temporary Server License.

Applications
Applications are available at Reedsburg City Hall, 134 S. Locust Street, weekdays from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. You may also click below to download and print an application. Applications must be completed and signed by the applicant. If mailing, you will need to provide a notarized signature. If delivering in-person to City Hall, a notary will be provided for you at no additional cost.

City Policy Guidelines for Alcohol Beverage Licenses The guidelines for denial are adopted by the Ordinance Committee for consideration of applicants for alcohol beverage licenses.
